Electrical Packages for Projects and Managed Buildings

We take electrical packages for main contractors, developers and facility managers: distribution boards and SMDBs, LV cabling and containment, lighting and small power, earthing, testing and the approval coordination, for offices, managed buildings, warehouses, laydown yards and industrial units. Every package is led by an electrical engineer, built to the Abu Dhabi Electricity Wiring Regulations, and tested and documented before anything is energised.

We price from your drawings and BOQ, issue submittals and an inspection and test plan before mobilising, work inside your programme and HSE system, and hand over signed test certificates and as-built DB schedules. Villa and apartment work, from DB upgrades to fault finding, is still welcome.

What is ADDC — and TAQA Distribution?

ADDC (Abu Dhabi Distribution Company) and AADC (Al Ain Distribution Company) were the electricity distribution companies for Abu Dhabi emirate. Since January 2025 they have operated as one company, TAQA Distribution, under the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy. New connections, load increases and significant changes to an installation need its inspection and approval before the supply is energised; routine maintenance and like-for-like repairs normally do not.

What a Non-Compliant Installation Costs a Project

The distribution company (TAQA Distribution, formerly ADDC) will not energise a new supply or a load increase until compliant work is submitted and approved, so commissioning and handover wait. A rejection list that arrives after ceilings and boards are closed up means rework nobody priced. And without the approval record and test results, the owner's handover file is incomplete.

How ADDC (TAQA Distribution) Approval Works

Work that involves a new connection, a load increase or a significant change to the distribution board must meet the distribution company's standards and pass its inspection before the supply is energised. Since January 2025 that company is TAQA Distribution, formerly ADDC and AADC.

Dot Expert designs and installs the work to the Abu Dhabi Electricity Wiring Regulations, tests it, and prepares the drawings and test records. Where an approval is required, the submission is made through a TAQA Distribution-licensed electrical contractor and we coordinate the inspection through to sign-off. You receive full documentation at handover.

Where a new connection, load increase or significant change is involved, the distribution company (TAQA Distribution, formerly ADDC) requires the installation to meet its technical standards before energising the supply: correct cable sizes, circuit protection, earthing and distribution board specification. A licensed electrical contractor submits the installation for inspection and obtains sign-off.

Yes. We take DB and SMDB supply and installation, LV cabling and containment, lighting and small power, earthing and testing as one package, priced from your drawings and BOQ. Where the drawings and the BOQ disagree we flag it at tender stage rather than after award.

Material submittals with data sheets, a method statement and risk assessment, an inspection and test plan with hold points for your engineer, signed test certificates for every new or modified circuit, as-built DB schedules and single-line diagrams, and the approval record where one was required.

A DB upgrade involves replacing the existing panel with a correctly rated unit, upgrading circuit breakers to current specification, verifying earthing, labelling all circuits, and testing. We carry out a load analysis first to ensure the new board is correctly sized.
