How ADDC Approval Works

All electrical installations in Abu Dhabi must comply with ADDC (Abu Dhabi Distribution Company) standards and pass a final inspection before the electricity connection is activated. This applies to new villas, apartment fit-outs, commercial premises, and distribution board replacements.

Dot Expert handles the full approval process: design to ADDC specification, submission of technical drawings where required, installation by licensed electricians, and coordination of the final ADDC inspection. You receive full documentation at handover.

Frequently Asked Questions

ADDC requires that all electrical installations meet their technical standards before activating a power connection. This includes correct wiring sizes, circuit protection, earthing, and distribution board specification. A licensed contractor submits the installation for inspection and obtains sign-off.
In the UAE, all electrical work on a property's fixed wiring must be carried out by a licensed contractor. Unlicensed work can void insurance, fail handover inspection, and create safety risks. For small jobs, we can often schedule quickly — contact us to discuss.
A new villa electrical installation in Abu Dhabi typically takes three to seven working days depending on scope and fit-out stage. Distribution board installation and smaller jobs are usually completed in one day.
A DB upgrade involves replacing the existing panel with a correctly rated unit, upgrading circuit breakers to current specification, verifying earthing, labelling all circuits, and testing. We carry out a load analysis first to ensure the new board is correctly sized.
Yes — this is one of our key advantages. Dot Expert is licensed for both disciplines. If your renovation involves electrical work in wet areas or a basement fit-out requiring both waterproofing and electrical, we coordinate both under one contract.
