Everything you need to know about waterproofing injection and electrical work in Abu Dhabi.

Waterproofing

Injection waterproofing seals water leaks by injecting liquid resin — polyurethane or epoxy — directly into cracks, joints, and voids in concrete under controlled pressure. Unlike surface membranes, injection works from inside the structure: the resin fills the crack itself, bonds to the concrete, and creates a structural seal at the point of water ingress. It is the accepted remedial method for below-grade structures, water-retaining concrete, and any situation where exterior access is restricted.
Polyurethane foam expands on contact with water, making it the correct material for active leaks with ongoing water flow — it seals under pressure and accommodates minor crack movement. Epoxy resin is rigid and high-strength, used for structural cracks where movement has stopped and the priority is load-bearing adhesion. Our site assessment determines which material is appropriate; in many projects, both are used.
Yes — this is its primary advantage over membrane systems. We drill injection ports directly through the interior face of the structure, inject resin under controlled pressure, and seal the ports on completion. No excavation, no exterior access, and no disruption to occupied spaces. This is why injection is the standard remedial method for occupied buildings, below-grade basements, and structures surrounded by adjacent buildings.
Abu Dhabi's environment accelerates concrete water ingress through several mechanisms: high-salinity groundwater with chloride concentrations that attack reinforcement and widen capillary pathways; extreme thermal cycling — cold winter nights to 45°C+ summer days — that repeatedly expands and contracts concrete, opening microcracks; flash flooding that applies sudden hydrostatic pressure to below-grade structures; and original construction membranes that typically fail within 10–15 years under UAE conditions.
When applied correctly to stable concrete, the seal is long-term — the cured resin bonds into the concrete matrix rather than sitting on the surface. Longevity depends on structural movement (ongoing settlement can reopen cracks) and sustained hydrostatic pressure. We issue a completion report with warranty details on every project.
Yes. We use food-grade polyurethane resins certified for contact with potable water. The cured material is chemically inert and meets UAE standards for water-retaining structures used for human consumption.
Indicative ranges: small wet room or bathroom repair AED 800–2,000; medium basement section AED 3,000–8,000; large basement or underground car park from AED 10,000; water tank waterproofing AED 1,500–5,000 depending on capacity. Final cost depends on the affected area, crack volume, resin type, and site access conditions. We provide itemised quotes after a free site assessment.
Most projects take one to three working days. A single bathroom or wet room is typically completed in one day; a basement or car park section takes two to three days. We assess the full scope during the site visit and give a specific timeline before work begins.
Yes. Injection waterproofing is an accepted remedial method under Abu Dhabi Municipality building regulations and is the technically preferred approach for below-grade and water-retaining structures where exterior membrane application is not feasible.
Foundations and basement walls; underground car parks and podium decks; tunnels, culverts, and utility shafts; water tanks, swimming pools, and reservoirs; wet rooms, bathrooms, and plant rooms; retaining walls and planter boxes. Any concrete structure with active or historic water ingress is a candidate.

Electrical

ADDC — Abu Dhabi Distribution Company — is responsible for distributing electricity across Abu Dhabi emirate. All electrical installations, modifications, and distribution board changes must meet ADDC's published technical standards and pass a final inspection before the power supply is activated. For Al Ain and surrounding areas, AADC (Al Ain Distribution Company) operates under the same regulatory framework.
Three direct consequences: ADDC will refuse to activate — or will disconnect — the electricity supply until compliant work is approved; property insurance policies in the UAE typically exclude damage claims arising from unlicensed or non-compliant electrical installations; and at property sale or lease, an installation without ADDC sign-off will fail the handover inspection required under Abu Dhabi real estate regulations.
Four steps: design and specification to ADDC standard (circuit layouts, load calculations, compliant materials); licensed installation by qualified electricians; ADDC inspection — we coordinate and attend; handover documentation package including sign-off, circuit schedule, and warranty. Dot Expert manages the complete process.
Yes. UAE law requires all work on fixed electrical wiring — regardless of scope — to be carried out by a licensed contractor. Unlicensed work can void property insurance, fail handover inspection, and creates safety risks. For small jobs, we can often schedule within a few days.
Typically three to seven working days depending on villa size, specification, and fit-out stage. Distribution board replacement and smaller works are usually completed in one day.
Replacing the existing panel with a correctly rated unit; upgrading circuit breakers to current ADDC specification; verifying earthing continuity; labelling all circuits; and load testing. We carry out a load analysis first to confirm the new board is correctly sized for the property's actual demand.
Indicative ranges: distribution board upgrade for a standard villa AED 1,500–4,000; new apartment full installation AED 3,000–8,000; new villa installation from AED 15,000 depending on size and specification; ADDC compliance and inspection work AED 500–2,000. All quotes are itemised after a free site assessment.
Yes. All Dot Expert electrical installations include a workmanship warranty. Specific terms are documented in your project quote and included in the handover package.

General

We cover all areas of Abu Dhabi emirate — including Abu Dhabi city, Al Reem Island, Saadiyat Island, Yas Island, Khalidiyah, Muroor, Al Mushrif, Al Ain, and surrounding areas. Contact us to confirm availability for your specific location.
Yes — this is one of our core advantages. Dot Expert is licensed for both disciplines. Renovation projects that require electrical work in wet areas, basement fit-outs needing both waterproofing and electrical, or any project where both scopes overlap can be handled under one contract with a single point of accountability.
Contact us via the quote form on this website, by phone, or on WhatsApp. We arrange a free site visit, assess the full scope, and provide a detailed itemised quote. No obligation.
Yes. Dot Expert General Contracting L.L.C S.P.C is registered for UAE VAT. A tax invoice with our TRN is issued on project completion.
Dot Expert was established in Abu Dhabi in 2025 and is licensed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development as a General Contracting company.
